I want to compute a CustomFactor base on it's own yesterday data. for example, the compute logic is :
x_n = max (x_(n-1) + p)
x_n: the factor value at day n
x_(n-1): the factor value at day n-1
p: some other value at day n
thank you.

Yes, factors can be recursive and use previous values to calculate current values? However, factors cannot be 'infinitely recursive' and must have an independent initial value. Also, factors have a lot of 'overhead'. Recursively calling a factor will create a new instance of the factor each 'recursion'. A better way is to write a single custom factor and put your logic into a loop inside the custom factor.
Maybe take a look at this post https://www.quantopian.com/posts/customfactor-question for ideas. Especially the notebook in the seventh reply. The custom factor in that notebook might be what you are looking for?
