Does quantopian recognize other positions?

I have my account linked to IB. Does Quantopian recognize when I am in another trade that was not directed by the algorithm? Specifically I am speaking about options.

Thanks!

In broker-integrated trading, Quantopian synchronizes all of your positions of securities that it support. If you manually buy 10 shares of AAPL, Quantopian will add that to your algorithm's portfolio. Quantopian doesn't support options. If you manually buy options your cash balance will decline, and Quantopian will synchronize that. But it won't "see" the options, so the transaction will just look like a loss of cash from the algorithm perspective.

Ah ok, thanks. So if I sell puts against my position, quantopian only sees an increase in cash.

I have code in my algo to adjust when the equity portion of my portfolio reaches a certain level. I guess that is not correctly being calculated because my short put position is being being registered.
