Deleting a test algorithm that is live trading

If the testing algorithm from which a live trading algorithm was launched is deleted, does the live trading one keep running?

I spawned three live trading algorithms by copying the same algo twice. Now I'd like to remove the duplicates from Testing Algorithms section of /algorithms without stopping the live trading ones.

edit: fix typo in title

An algorithm can't be removed from the "testing" section if it's live trading. You will need to stop the live trading algo, and then you can delete from the "testing" section.

That's a bit odd, why is the live algorithm locking the testing one? The former prevents deletion of the latter, like the live one was running off the testing script, but then it's possible to the testing algorithm.

So I could have a live algorithm that references an empty testing one.

What's the rationale behind this deletion policy?
