Hi folks,
Can you confirm how often def initialize(context): is called in a live trading environment? Is it at the start of each trading day?
In live trading, initialize() gets called once when you first deploy your algorithm to set up your variables and create your stock universe. Afterward, handle_data() gets called each minute that your algorithm has trade data.
If in initialize() you use Fetcher, you can append new data to the bottom of your file. We pull in the fetched file nightly to prepare your algorithm for the following trading day.
