Does the contest leaderboard update once a week? Looks like roughly 5 days since the last update for Contest 29 (May 2017 challenge). Of course daily updates would be ideal, and I'm sure your team is working toward that end, but I wanted to see if updates every 5-7 days is the standard for right now.

I'm noticing this too, all leaderboards appear to have not updated in 4 days. In the past it seemed they updated daily around 3am.
@Quantopian, is this a bug or are you moving toward updating the leaderboard on a weekly basis? If so, I'm curious why.

They haven't been running this week due to a bug. Our team is currently working on fixing this issue.

I very much understand your frustration.
We are actively working on a solution to the problem. My guess is that it will take another day or two to properly fix the problem (but never trust a software engineering estimate!).

That is a separate operational issue from today unrelated to the leaderboard. The paper trading algos had a late start today but they'll catch up (if they haven't already). We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Any update would be awesome at this point! A little frustrating to have to come back and check every day.

If you fully understood the frustration out completely understood the anxiety, we wouldn't have to continually seek out updates. Both of these things stem from being left in the dark. If there was any level of understanding, let alone full or complete understanding, you would provide regular updates without us having to make multiple requests.

As Ernesto noted, the leaderboard has successfully updated for all contests and should be back and updating as normal moving forward.
I'd like to give you some background as to the cause of the problem so you have some clarity as to what was happening behind the scenes. The root cause of the problem was that the benchmark data used by the leaderboard calculations began to fail. It failed unexpectedly because it was using pyfolio for the data and pyfolio was relying upon the Yahoo API for benchmark data. Using Yahoo data makes sense within the context of pyfolio since it is open source and the Yahoo data was freely available.
As many of you likely know, the (undocumented) API for this Yahoo data changed abruptly recently. This change caused a series of failures in quite a few of our open source libraries, pyfolio included. Once we sorted out the problems, we concluded that (of course) we needed to fix the leaderboard and that it should no longer rely upon Yahoo (or any other free API for that matter).
This part of our architecture had not previously accessed market data such as this so it was quite a bit more complex than a typical bug fix. In turn, once the development work was complete, this new code failed a variety of integration tests over the last few days, preventing it from coming out in a more timely fashion. We thought we were 'done' but our integration tests thought otherwise.
We're sorry that this bug lingered for so long. We know you invest a lot of time in the contest and your research on Quantopian and we will continually work to make the entire platform more robust, reliable and more powerful.

@Josh Previously the leaderboard would update sometime around midnight, on Friday it updated around noon. Is it inadvertently set for PM instead of AM?
I don't think anything along those lines was changed. The duration of the runs can be variable so I think it was just a bit more variable on Friday. I'll keep an eye on it.

The leader board updated at noon again today. I'm not sure why it updating early would be do to variability. I would assume that it's slated to start at a specific time. I don't think it's the case that this was the completion of Mondays update, as it appeared to be up to date as of about 6 last night. Just curious why the update would go through with 4 hours left in the trading day.
Is it possible, that the leader board is updating based on the wrong time zone? Maybe the process is kicking off at 4:15 Greenwich mean time.
We'll dig into this a bit more. Occasionally some work in the background might delay these jobs.
