Is there capability of importing code developed offline in the form of a text file?

Hello Ricardo,

Not at present but it would be useful. You could add a request at https://www.quantopian.com/posts/feature-requests-what-changes-would-you-like-to-see

Hi Ricardo,

Just to highlight the obvious, you can manually copy-and-paste into the code editor from a text file (not quite what you are looking for, but it works).

One question (not yet answered) is whether proposed changes to fetcher would allow import of strings of code that could be executed (see my last post to https://www.quantopian.com/posts/proposed-changes-to-fetcher-and-universe-selection).

Thanks guys.

It would be so awesome if it were someday possible for me to code the algorithm up in my local Vim editor, simply type :upload or something and see my code uploaded to Quantopian. And then simply do an Alt + Tab and Ctrl + B and let the magic run in the backtester. Any plans for such API to which we can hook our offline editors?
