Choosing stocks based on yesterday's closing price.

Hello all. I am very new to this. I am trying to write a strategy to choose a random stock based on a closing price range from the previous day. Buy the stock when the price drops a certain amount, sell when it raises a certain amount and sell all of that stock before the end of the day whether it has gone up or not. The next day, a new stock from the same price range would be chosen. I would also like to limit the amount purchased to 1/6th of my available funds.

I know this is not a viable strategy for real life trading. Just an experiment. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!
