The new chat feature works! Thank You Q. What is Q's privacy policy regarding chat? Can chats eventually be deleted, and if so how? Are chats expunged when deleted, without backup?
Everything old is new again! The collaboration feature, including chat with your collaborator, has actually been around for several years. I'm glad that you like it!
To use the feature, click "collaborate" on the IDE screen. We've never added the feature to notebooks - it's a different infrastructure and we've never tackled it.
The chat logs are treated with the same care as algorithms in our system: encrypted and stored, and kept private according to our privacy policy. We go with the assumption that the chats are valuable intellectual property of the community member, and therefore protected appropriately. We haven't put them on any sort of deletion schedule, but I we could do that as a feature request if there was interest.
