Changing the FinTech Culture One Woman at a Time

The finance and technology industries are still two of the most male-dominated industries today. This can pose a challenge for women pursuing careers in these fields as they may face gender discrimination both consciously and subconsciously. Quantopian is working to break down these barriers and encourage an open conversation about the gender disparity in the fintech industry, and ways we can help change the culture.

The first season of our new interview series, Women In FinTech, features nine individual interviews with women in various roles within the finance and technology industry. Host, Phoebe Foy, asks these women to share with viewers why they pursued the career they are in, what challenges they have faced, and any lessons they have learned along the way. Some of the women interviewed this season include: Quantopian’s managing director of Portfolio Management and Research, Dr. Jessica Stauth, Domeyard founder and partner, Christina Qi, and FinTech Sandbox Executive Director, Jean Donnelley.

Through sharing these stories we hope to encourage every woman who has an interest in a career in finance and technology to pursue that dream.
