Hi everyone! Today I received an email from Quantopian team saying that overnight positions are not possible as orders have to be closed by the end of the trading day. It sounds very strange as it would be too much restrictive so I am sure that it exists some ways to keep stocks in portfolio longer than just 1 day. I would be pleased to know if it is possible or definitely not. Your thoughts and solutions are welcome, cheers!
Yes, of course one can hold securities overnight or for as long as one wishes. The misunderstanding may be that open orders are closed at the end of each day automatically (ie all orders are assumed good for day only). Open positions (securities one holds long or short) remain until you close them.
