Hello,

I just tried opening a research notebook using safari on a mac and it loaded as normal. Which OS are you running on and which version of Safari?

If you try clearing your browser cookies in Safari, does the problem still persist?

Thank you. I am using safari 8.0.6 on macbook air OS X Yosemite 10.10.3
I cleaned up cache and cookies, closed browser and logged back in. Still the same issue.

regards

when I open dev console , i see this error. Does it mean anything.

[Error] Failed to load resource: too many HTTP redirects (tree, line 0) https://ip-10-65-193-195-prod.dynoquant.com/user/5486694aa9d4698e0d00022e/tree

This seems to be a problem on our end. While we work on fixing it, can you use research from another browser? Sorry for the trouble!

thank you Jamie for the confirmation. i have windows VM inside my mac. i can use that one for now.

Hi, It is now November 2016 and there is still the same problem,
"research-i-f598d766.prd.int.dynoquant.com redirected you too many times."

I am using Chrome on Mac OS X Siearra.

Hi, I'm also getting the same issue. Also Chrome on OSX Sierra. The error code is: "research-i-f598d766.prd.int.dynoquant.com redirected you too many times."

Works fine in Safari though

hmmm, I get the problem in both Chrome and Safari (on macOS Sierra 10.12.3). I've even disabled most of my tracking blockers. Anyone got a solution?

Ok, I might have found the reason: a restrictive cookie-policy. Specifically, in

Safari -> Preferences -> Privacy -> Cookies and website data

I had selected "Allow from current website only". That prevents quantiopian.com/research from loading.

When setting it to the less restrictive "Allow from websites I visit", the notebooks load fine.

Bit annoying I have to make my browsing globally less private just to use quantopian notebooks :-/

The "too many redirects" issue usually crops up when you have third-party cookies disabled on your browser. Can you confirm that cookies are enabled?

Hi Jamie, thanks for the quick reply. See my post above - it was indeed a too restrictive cookie policy. Now I'm happily hacking away!

Thank you so much, Fabian! Can't believe the solution is so simple after spending ages trying to work out what was blocking it.

You do not have to allow all third party cookies. Just allow the ones needed to load the page.

In Chrome do the following:

  1. On notebooks page with redirect error, click the cookie icon with the red-box-x on the right side of the address bar
  2. Click "Show cookies and other site data"
  3. Click the "Blocked" tab
  4. Click the dynoquant address
  5. Click "Allow"
  6. Reload the page

Now you can open the Notebook as well as keep all other 3rd party cookies blocked.

Thanks Fabian Lischka, Jason Pawlak !
