These are mostly side-effects of post-crisis financial regulation.

I think Nassim Taleb complex systems theory applies to the events we've been witnessing. I haven't watched this video, but it looks like it cover it:

I believe as world financial markets become more complex and more interconnected the more prone they will be to systematic failures / black swan events.

The question we have to ask ourselves is how do we make money off this...

If you have the wherewithal, maintain limit buy/limit sell orders for all stocks just inside the LULD/daily circuit breaker levels.
