Hello,
My name is Mark, I’m a college student in Chicago double majoring in Finance and Statistics. I’ve been researching the energy markets for a very long time. I’ve been doing technical analysis on Crude oil futures and on energy stocks.
I’m moving a little bit away from the technical analysis ( Like RSI, Bollinger Bands ) and looking more at energy company fundamentals ( Like revenues - P/E ratio’s ) and also crude oil fundamentals ( Like how much barrels of oil there actually are ) .
I’m doing all of the above to correctly price some of these assets ( I want to see if there is a possible mispricing in some of these stocks ).
With what’s going on in the current crude oil situation what can I do to correctly price in/forecast energy company prices? Maybe look at the average stock price in the past? I’m not sure if i should even spend so much time on this….
I was also thinking of possibly looking at the current seasonal demand…
Also, before I collect any kind of data/do research --- should I maybe read books on asset pricing?
