Any Hope for an Tradier API Intgration?

Hello all,

I recently switched over the Tradier brokerage. It's a cheap, barebones platform with a slick API. I am loving it. I have built a python library for it which allows me to trade directly from my server but I still really love the Quantopian backtesting and really great prototyping environment. Right now I backtest on quantopian then then manually code and run my own strategy directly to Tradier through their API. If I wanted to learn C#, I could use quantconnect to live trade on tradier.

I know that Tradier + Quantopian integration has been discussed a few times in other threads but I can't find anything suggesting that integration is, or is not, envisioned for the future.

Does anyone know whether there is hope of the companies allowing live tradier trading through the quantopian platform?

There's hope ;) But it's not something on the short list of engineering tasks.

Brokerage integrations take a lot of work, particularly because of how bullet-proof they need to be. If we ship a bug that makes a forum post look silly, well, we just fix it and ship again. But if we ship a bug in a brokerage integration. . . . we never get that money back. We tend to work more on other features (like adding futures, or better trade universe selection, or more data sources) than we do on adding brokerages.

When we choose to add new ones, it's mostly based on demand, and partly on ease/quality of the API. We get some demand for Tradier, so it's on the list.

Thanks so much for reaching out so quickly. Great feedback. I will be on the lookout for a Tradier integration longer term.

In the meantime, thanks to you and your team for building a great product.
