Announcing the Quantopian Managers Program

We made a big announcement today. Quantopian is developing a hedge fund. We will provide the capital, technology, legal, and compliance operations. We are looking to you, our community of quants, to provide the investment strategies.

The first step to entering the program is for you to start trading real money on Quantopian, creating a real-money track record for your algorithm. Selection into the program will be based on your real-money trading record. Only strategies with 6 months of track record on the Quantopian platform will be considered.

If your strategy is selected, we will allocate capital to your algorithm. You will earn a share of the returns from your algorithm. For the first round of managers, our goal is to offer selected quants up to $1M in investment capital. Your algorithm will invest the capital and you will earn a share of the returns from your algorithm.

As always, Quantopian will respect and protect your intellectual property. Your algorithms are kept secret, and we will not look at them without your permission.

(1) Link your Quantopian account to your Interactive Brokers account.

(2) From your My Algorithms page click the ‘Live Trade’ button to the right of the algorithm you want to trade. Select the ‘$ Broker’ option. You will be prompted to log into your Interactive Brokers account (Quantopian does not store your brokerage account password).
