Dear all,

Sorry to bother everyone but I am new to this program. I am wondering if you can share some basics before digging into the details.

How to write codes for the following questions:
1. How to download the financial daily for the chosen stocks?
2. How to calculate beta of each stock?
3. How to download the Price per Earnings for each stock?
4. How to produce visual graphs and summary tables?

Thanks a lot for your time and codes!

Maxim, welcome!

  1. You can't download the data from Quanntopian (per our license with data vendors) but you can import it to research for further analysis.
  2. To calculate the stock beta, here are some examples from searching the community:
    https://www.quantopian.com/posts/how-do-i-get-the-historical-beta-of-a-stock
    https://www.quantopian.com/posts/pipeline-calculating-beta

  3. See #1. You can't download the data, but you can run analyses and write code to trade on the P/E ratio

  4. Which graphs are you referring to? Those in the tearsheet summarizing your portfolio behavior? If so, here's an example notebook how to produce the graphs.

Cheers,
Alisa
