Is there a way to do calculations on previous bars and then use those results to make a buy/sell decision on the current bar?

Also, is there a way to change the length of bars, or does everything need to be calculated using the 1 minute bars.

Thanks.

In reading other posts, I see that the length of bars feature is coming.

@Karl, thanks for your questions. You are right - we are putting the finishing touches on day bars, and work is starting on providing a way for algorithms to receive a window of data. I wrote a bit more about it on this thread.

Also, Karl, you might look at the Event Window in this example from fawce. Is that something you're looking for?

Our thought right now is to provide easier and more terse access to Event Windows in the algorithm scripts. The basic idea is to let you define a method, which will then receive a window of N days for M securities. You can also specify the frequency you wish to run this method (every minute or hour or day). Statistical results can be stashed in your context to be used in handle_data for trading.
